The Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater Cultural Arts Complex was labeled "the most beautiful, and costly playhouse in all the southland" when built and opened in 1913 by black businessman Geder Walker.

Since the facility has undergone tremendous restoration and expansion to become a premier performance complex of cultural arts of the African Diaspora.  The anchor of the cultural renaissance on Miami's historic colored section, the Lyric offers an intimate appeal for all events large and small.

The historic Lyric auditorium is a 390 seat space, fully equipped with a stage with comprehensive sound and lighting capability.  Perfect for business conferences, conventions, performances, fundraisers, weddings, and, of course, film premieres.

For smaller affairs, the Lyric Lobby, multipurpose/banquet space, and the Lyric plaza are ideal for parties and receptions ranging from 50-600 guest.

Each customized event is handled by experienced on-site event staff working with the in-house audio-visual team to ensure that every occasion is flawless and unforgettable.
